Steve Monnet/Swiss Engineering Group

Steve Monnet, PhD, MSc, with his Swiss Technologies & Engineering Group is active in the chemical and petroleum industry since 1993. Steve started his carrier at Tamoil’s Refinery in Colombey (Switzerland) where after he occupied various positions he has been nominated as Operation Manager. Since 2000, he occupied executive position in several companies, including Petroplus Cressier Refinery, Fair Energy SA, Niton Capital SA, Group Swiss Engineering... When working for these companies he developed extensive managerial and technical experience in the petroleum, energy and chemical industries. He understands the need for creativity and commitment required to succeed in a start-up environment.


Steve has long experience of project management of industrial installation start-up, restoration or reconfiguration. Some projects he has been involved in include feasibility studies for a new gas turbine, a WHRB, a residual catalytic cracker, various Biodiesel units and Bioethanol Plants as well as dewaxing units. Steve was also involved with the master plan for a North-African refinery, the RAFO refinery as well as various south American and African refineries.


Lately he made the conceptual design for the storage and transport of ethanol in Sierra Leone and a conceptual design and FEED for the supply of HFO for a power plant, also in Sierra Leone. He also did a pre-study for the implementation of a 50’000 BPSD refinery in Western Africa.


Many years in this field have allowed him to develop numerous business contacts necessary for the success of various projects.


Steve is currently managing several companies like: Swiss Terminal Barranquilla, Swiss Energy Recycling, Swiss Technologies & Engineering as well as CEO of F&W Latam and handling projects on 4 continents.
